    to become the person I have always wanted to be, i.e. straightedge and pop punk. Through the use of the medium, Tumblr, I was able to get a tighter grasp on what I believe in and enjoy. Seeing all my friends in high school start drinking and smoking at a young age made me hate drugs and alcohol even more. I never really fit in with the crowd because I did not go to parties and get wasted. All of my friends thought I was a lame or “prude” because I did not want to get in trouble or poison my body with harmful chemicals. It took until my senior year of high school to figure out what I really believed in; straightedge. To bring to simple terms, straightedge is a choice and a lifestyle; abstaining from drinking, smoking, drugs and lying.
