Tears instantly filled my eyes, and I tried my hardest to get back onto my feet so I could ride again, but it was difficult. I failed miserably. There was no way I could pick myself up to walk down to the house. My dad offered to carry me. The pain tingled from my toes to my knee. As we approached the house, my mom heard my shrieking and raced out the doors with a phone. She soon dialed the numbers 9-1-1. Within the next couple of minutes the ambulance arrived. They placed me on a stretcher in the back of the truck, and demanded to examine my leg. However, they needed to cut my favorite pair of jeans. At first, I refused, but then they gave me a blue stuffed animal plush toy to take my mind off of the madness that was going on around me. When they glanced at my leg, they told my parents that one of them should join me in the truck, and the other should follow in a car with my brother. My mom took the ambulance, and calmed me down on the way to the hospital. I was given a bed in the emergency room, and the doctors came in to inspect my leg one more time. He asked for me to wiggle my toes, but I struggled. I tried several times, and I just didn’t have the strength in me. Eventually, I moved them the slightest bit, hardly even noticeable.
