two particular characters that act the same way at times, but are also completely different at the same time. The characters that I am talking about is Oliver the protagonist and Fagin. These two characters are similar because Fagin and Oliver and they are similar because they are in the same pickpocketing gang that Fagin is the leader of. Also, they are similar because they both are in poverty that’s why Fagin started his pickpocketing gang in the first place. Although Fagin and Oliver are similar they are also very different characters. For instance, Fagin is in a pickpocketing gang, but hardly ever does it himself. He started the pickpocketing gang because he doesn't want to do his dirty work. On the other hand Oliver does pick pockets because Fagin tells him to but Oliver is an orphan and Fagin is unknown if he is an orphan or not. Oliver has charm and is treated cruel unlike Fagin ,who is treated mean but doesn't have charms. This explains how Oliver and Fagin are both similar at times but then again are two completely different characters. Two events that created a major change are when Oliver asked for more food the later on leaves the orphanage and when he joins Fagins pickpocketing gang. To give an example on page seventeen, it stated, “Please, sir, I want some more.” This made a major change in the plot because the cook yelled at Oliver as well as striking him on his face which later on caused him to leave. Oliver left to the streets of London, where he met Artful…

In this magazine article by Green we see Robbins performing his “magical” trick of pickpocketing by taking advantage of peoples’ change blindness. Green in his article says: “Robbins needs to get close to his victims without setting off alarms bells” which reminds me of the examples of the boat, the advertisement, and the cards trick, where the change was happening so slowly that it was unnoticeable. The same way Robbins is slowly getting close to his victims, and thus allowing him to have easy…
