socioeconomic boundaries. My ability to communicate effectively through written and spoken word is one of my significant strengths. That is what a well-rounded education can provide for a person, and part of what I seek from graduate school. I am an exemplary student, as my academic career presents. I maintain a high grade point average, and I am on the Dean’s List every semester. On an intrapersonal level, I continuously grow in my work ethic, my critical thinking, and my analysis skills. Through my refinement of these skills, and learning about politics and foreign policy, I have grown to appreciate an elegant and objective way of speaking and thinking. This has been reflected in my earning the honor of being the Vice President of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. I was accepted into the Critical Thought Symposium at my university, a competitive achievement. I also take every opportunity to study abroad, including Cuba, illustrating my aspirations to become a member of a global community and have an intimate understanding of international cultures, politics, and governments. For my undergraduate thesis, I worked under some of the faculty members of my university, conducting field research. In the spring, I will be part of a group of people presenting the research at the regional political science conference.
