    Good morning Mr. Speaker, Prime Minster Turnbull, the Honorable leader of the Opposition, Mr. Bill Shorten, Honorable Members of the House, esteemed quests, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Harrison Potter and I rise to address the house this morning to propose Zach Bryers as my candidate for the 2018 Australian of the Year Award. Zach Bryers was born in The Australian Capital Territory in 1979 and has lead the Australian effort to help guide young Australians with any troubling experiences. Zach Bryers had a harsh upbringing and was always angry at his mother because his father wasn’t there to be angry at. At fifteen years of age he left home and went to stay with his friends when he could, but often slept in the sand dunes on the beach. Zach picked himself up after four years on the streets and with the help of his girlfriend decided to join the Australian army. Zach Bryers served in the armed forces for years until he was medically discharged due to post-traumatic stress disorder. Now back home, his experiences in war inspired him to keep striving to achieve. Zach set a new goal to compete in professional gridiron. He trained long and hard hours to reach his expectations of competing in the world championship against the American teams. Zach reached this goal and started to compete with the “Australian Outback’s” and was quite a successful player and a valued member of the team.
