Many of us today have lots of bad things that happen in our lives. Some people have horrific things that happen to them and the move on. Others may take and have small things happen to them. In this quote "The average man is a conformist, accepting miseries and disasters with the stoicism of a cow standing in the rain." -Colin Wilson, I think that Wilson is trying to say that there are times in our lives when that people have horrible things happen to them and there isn’t a whole lot that they can do about it, the person just takes it over and over, and never does a thing about it. I agree with this statement because I see it happening all the time. It actually happens to me. Many things are just left alone and people don’t bother to ask if the person is okay. Sometimes I see this is no one cares about the person. The people need to learn to stand up for themselves. Because if they don’t then they are doing to one day take their own lives if they don’t talk about it or figure something else out. I have a horrible experience with this myself. My father died when I was in the 6th grade I had a tough time dealing with this. It was one of the hardest things in life that I had to deal with it was very hard for me to understand. I didn’t know what to do or anything about it. I felt completely numb to everything that was going on and what was going on around me. I was confused and being that you made it so much harder on me. This felt like I was a cow just standing there. I…

What makes a person an American? For many people America is a symbol of freedom. This freedom that Americans contain really is at the core of what makes them American. “And the American people are the greatest people in the world. What makes America the greatest nation in the world is the heart of the American people: hardworking, innovative, risk-taking, God- loving, family-oriented American people.” As Romney said people are allowed to have their own religion, take risks, and they are really…

The Wave is all about types, and Robert Billings is no exception; he's the school loser, to use the novel's rather cruel terminology. As part of my personal growth journey, I signed up for Soulvana. I had a heck of a time finishing up the first course, Self-Esteem: Your Fundamental Power. Reflecting on it there were a few reasons why it was so hard to get through, but I finally finished it as I waited for my husband 's flight to arrive last night. The course was created by Caroline Myss. Apparently she has expertise in many different fields, including energy medicine, human consciousness, and mysticism. I had to look up the…
