This is most certainly an integral component to all aspects of effective nursing. As described by Goodrich and Cornwell (2008) it is no longer seen that a positive patient experience rests solely on the patient obtaining good clinical care but how “kindness and compassion” also are of great importance to the contentment of the patient.
