Newton! Newton is one of the most beautiful and calmest towns that I have ever lived in. It has the best restaurants and doughnuts! The town is also well taken care of and has great school districts along with many wonderful sports that start in middle school and are offered to the students. You don't see many run down buildings and all of the houses are nice and well taken care of. There are many wonderful reasons why you should move to Newton. First of all Newton is known for the the delicious doughnuts at Drubers. Yes, Newton does not have very many restaurants but the restaurants that we do have serve the best food. La Fiesta has very very tasty appetizers! The food is also to die for! Drubers Doughnuts has the best glazed doughnuts…

The Smithsonian Museum is made up of nineteen museums spread out over an area in Washington DC. My favorite museum of all that we visited was the Air and Space Museum. At the Udvar-Hadzy Center it costed six dollars to take a test flight in a plane, which I found really outrageous because it was six dollars for a test flight for like five minutes. Although overall it was a really cool place to visit and I was blown away by how big some of…

A defining feature of any collection, whether it be of curiosities, natural specimens, art works, or other objects, is the presence of an underlying system of thought — an episteme — that shapes the way in which a collection grows and evolves. Differences in these epistemes can vary widely across the centuries, and the present paper will discuss the differences between two genres of cabinets: the Wunderkammern, or “cabinet of wonders”, of the 16th century during the Renaissance; and the…

One of the major ideas it seems Shelley attempts to assert through this novel is the danger of unchecked intellect. Since Frankenstein attains his problematic knowledge of natural philosophy on his own, he is not successfully checked in his actions by any other scholars or intellectual mentors who may have prevented him from taking his intellect too far. As a result, Frankenstein’s unfettered knowledge leads to a series of questionable choices ultimately leading to a destructive result. Most…

The W.M. Keck museum is Nevada’s second oldest museum. Founded in 1908, it has become a museum within a museum as many of the methods to display artifacts used in 1908 are still used today. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. A museum’s job is to allow for everyone to enjoy and to be inspired when they visit the museum. That is not an easy job as people experience museums differently and to be accommodating for everyone is difficult, especially for the Keck museum which is now constrained…
