Who is the beast in Lord of the Flies? There where three things that made the boys believe that there was a beast on the island. The first thing that got them to believe that there was a beast was fear. They got scared when they heard they might be living with a beast. Second was they got bombed out of the sky by a plane and landed on an island. The boys’ minds were not in the right state of mind. Third they were just becoming savages to survive on the island. In (Doc A) the boys begin to believe that they are living with a beast on the island. They first here about the beast when a young child believes he saw a bestie. At first the little children where believing that there was a bestie but later everyone started to believe that there was a bestie (Doc A). Since there were no parents to tell them a there was no bestie they all just believed there was a bestie (Doc A). Jack and the hunters said If there was a bestie we would hunt it and kill It as if it was a pig (Doc B). In (Doc C) the big part of the boys believing there was a bestie was that the war was going on. If they war wasn’t going on they wouldn’t have been stuck on the island to begin with because their plane got shot down by the enemy. Golding says war produces an effect on humans it makes them scared and stiff (Doc C). Golding is saying that’s the boys where very scared of what is happening to them because of the war.
