After her parents divorced when she was thirteen, she moved to Franklin, Tennessee. This is where she met her future bandmates Josh and Zac Farro through a homeschool program (Mansfield). They all shared a passion for music and decided to start a pop punk band. Her and the Farro brothers were founding members of that band Paramore, along with friend Jeremy Davis. ‘Paramore’ was coined from a friend of the band’s mother’s maiden name, and a play on the word ‘paramour.’ Williams was discovered in 2003 and introduced to Atlantic Records, being offered a record deal as a solo pop artist. She refused, saying she would only sign if she could be part of Paramore rather than be a solo…

Paramore is an alternative rock band. I mainly chose this band due to the fact that it was the first band I had ever listened to. Whenever I hear their songs, it brings nostalgic memories of how I used their music to express the antsy feelings I felt back in middle school. It allowed me to express the depression and suicidal thoughts I felt without harming myself. The songs that affected me the most and helped me get through tough times were “Playing God “, “Feeling Sorry” and “Ignorance “. The…

Throughout the play, Paramore would recite jokes and make fun except in her monologue, where she was very serious and contemplative. I could feel the emotion in both “versions” of Maggie, making Paramore’s acting seem very genuine. Agnes, played by Tamara Veres-Vailant, is the most quiet of the sisters. I also felt indifferent to Veres-Vailant’s acting, but she did make it clear that Agnes had a little bit of a crush on Gerry, which I believe is the one of the most important parts about…

My biggest fashion icon has to be Hayley Williams, the lead singer of the famous pop-punk band, Paramore. Her style would probably best be described as ‘unique’. With dyed orange hair, brightly colored clothing, and a combination of patterns from head to toe, Hayley can look good in anything and everything. And because of her confidence and poise, she really does wear ‘anything and everything’! One of the reasons that I appreciate her style is because she wears outrageous clothes without…

In the beginning they were not accredited with much and acclaimed to be “too soft and pop-oriented” (Lockett “Green Day Will Likely Go Into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Next Year. They Deserve It.”). When they dropped their album Dookie that is when their name was recognized. Dookie “opened the door to a mid-’90s wave of popped-up punk and provided a launching pad for the current crop of melodic pop-punkers.” (D'angelo “How Green Day's Dookie Fertilized A Punk-Rock Revival”). This album…

Twenty One Pilots’ album Blurryface captures the emotions and feelings almost everyone experiences, but is too afraid to express. With its multi-genre track list, Blurryface could not be identified as one genre due to the complexity of the melodies, off putting beat changes, and depressing lyrics. The album should have failed in the beast that is mainstream music. However, bandmates Tyler Joseph and Joshua Dun of Twenty One Pilots managed to take their polarizing sound and turn it into a…

"Part of me felt like something momentous was about to happen. The other part of me expected to wake up at any moment, to come out of this fever dream or stress episode or whatever it was and wake up with my face in a puddle of drool on the Smart Aid break room table and think, Well, that was strange, and then return to the boring old business of being me.
