Ninth grade English is very complex and simple at the same time. English has been around for a while and teaches many important skills to use. Students learn how to write many types of poems and essays. My biggest weaknesses lie in the realm of punctuation. The first culprit is the coma, I tend to either go overboard with comas, or never put them in; therefore, run-ons and coma splices pop up all over my papers. Along with comas, I also struggle with the usage of the apostrophe. I find I am either adding it to the wrong place in a word, or not adding it at all. Maya Angelou was a famous author and performer and had an amazing story to tell. She overcame the trauma of rape and during the time she didn't speak she read every book she could.
