I decided that instead of focusing on the negatives that I should appreciate my accomplishments. I won many optional competitions at that pageant, but more importantly, I, every participant, won the memories and lessons associated with the pageant. Pageants instill confidence, promote civic duty, and stress the importance of education. In addition, pageants require girls to focus on the positive aspects of life rather than the negatives.
