For this focus, the essay will evaluate the relationships among characters in a film called Star Wars: Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith. The film is an American Sci-fi released in 2005 under George Lucas. It is the prequels to the original Star Wars trilogy. The film takes place during the Clone Wars, an intergalactic conflict between the Galactic Republic and Separatist. However, it focuses more on the steps that lead to the creation of the Galactic Empire ruled by Emperor Palpatine and the infamous Darth Vader. The characters involved are Anakin Skywalker, focusing on the events with the Jedi Council that lead him to embrace the dark side; Padme Amidala, a politician in the Galactic Republic and love interest of Skywalker; Obi Wan Kenobi, a mentor and brother figure to Skywalker; and Palpatine, a sith lord. The paper will apply four concepts from the book onto the various relationships of Anakin Skywalker: using social exchange theory,social penetration theory, relational dialectic theory, and and termination stage.
