One-room school

The first half of the last decade of the century proceeded as the previous decade i.e. regular hard farm work, children at school, women providing the warmth of a home. Zachariah was still winning in the fall fair for colts and geldings, shearing rams and of course the best fat sheep. Occasionally, he would get lucky with his Holstein bull, a ram or sow and come in first or second.
