Anna Julia Cooper spent her lifetime over a century rethinking the restrictions and open doors for ladies of shielding in a general public set up for their disempowerment and enslavement. As a recognized researcher and teacher, Cooper saw the status and organization of dark ladies as fundamental to the correspondence and advancement of the country. In 1881, Cooper started undergrad learns at Oberlin College on an educational cost grant, having as of now accomplished refinement in both aesthetic sciences and arithmetic. The school had a recommended course of study for ladies, yet Cooper demanded taking after the supposed "Men of honor 's Course." She earned her Bachelors of Arts in 1884, one of the main African American ladies to do as such. Proceeding with her learns at Oberlin, she took a Master’s of Science in arithmetic in 1887. After graduation, she taught quickly at Wilberforce University in Ohio, and after that for one year at her institute of matriculation, St. Augustine. In 1887, Cooper got a welcome from the Washington, DC, director of shaded schools to wind up an employee at what was then known as the Washington Colored High School (later called the M Street Colored High School and at last the Paul Laurence Dunbar High School).
