Franks got his first pilot uniform by using a fake employee ID number. To prevent this from happening, instead of ordering new uniform directly from the store by a pilot, the company could use employee record and order the uniform for the employee. The uniform should have employee’s name on it. Therefore, the identity was checked upfront before the order is been processed. As auditors, conformation, insuring, and observing will help us detect such fraudulent activities. Many of Frank’s fraudulent activities are self-invented with no proof. Any types of additional look up will uncover the non-exist records. According to the fraud triangle, there are three reasons that led to Frank’s fraud. For opportunity, people smart as Frank can easily see the control weaknesses in a system. Such as the bank would keep issuing the payments without checking the balance. For rationalization, Frank was doing it to survive as a kid who ran away from home. For pressure, it is also the living pressure that he need to worry about primarily. A uniform represents someone’s identity and people could easily gain trust by wearing them.
