Evie Zamora, the protagonist from the 2003 film Thirteen, is a mysterious, charismatic, yet bold thirteen year who draws popular attention from her peers by her voluptuous body, seductive clothing, and flirtatious behavior. Evie appears to be a broken individual who displays deviant and destructive behavior. It is evident in the film that she transformed from a young girl into women over her summer vacation. Evie is characterized as the most popular girl in school. She has dark and lustrous brown hair, a physique like a model, a tongue piercing, and appears to wear a considerable amount of makeup. She also surrounds herself with individuals that are drug dealers and sexually active boys. One of Evie’s admirers is Tracy Freeland, who will do anything to win her friendship. The gravitational pull of Tracy to Evie is very strong, but their friendship is far from healthy. The more Tracy became dependent on her friendship with Evie, the further her life quickly spiraled out of control. With Evie’s personality, there is no limits and boundaries to how far she will go to impress her new friend Tracy. However, at the beginning of the movie, she bullies Tracy for her “juvenile” appearance. For example, Tracy’s blue and graphic socks. In another scene, Evie pretends to be impressed by Tracy’s attempt to look “cool”, and gives her a fake number to go shopping with her at Melrose Ave, popular spot teens go to. In the opening scene of the movie, Evie and Tracy exchange face punches in…

At its core, Steven Spielberg’s 1975 film, Jaws, is a horror movie.
