    The New Science of Learning is a book by Terry Doyle and Todd Zakrajsek. We read the book and discussed it in groups in our English class; to learn more about our specific styles of learning. Reading this book, I really got a feel for what is good for my brain and what activities I can participate in to further my learning. Sleep, Hydration, and your diet play a very important part in your brain’s activity. My sleep schedule is very erratic. I let little things such as my phone and my tv, distract my from closing my eyes. If something around me is going on, I simply cannot close my eyes. A normal human should get at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep, I however get around maybe 5 or 6. (16) “Humans spend one-third of their lives sleeping and a lack of sleep results in adverse effects on health, as well as learning and memory problems” So by me not getting the proper amount of sleep, I am keeping myself from my full potential.
