    6. If my friend was experiencing a great deal of stress issues, I would suggest a few things to her. First, I would encourage her to reduce the amount of caffeine, sweets, and fried foods she is consuming. These foods and drinks can trigger and aggravate stress, causing her to be more anxious and compounding the problems. Second, I would suggest for her to drink more water, eat a “rainbow of foods,” and attempt to consume some food every four hours. Drinking more water hydrates the body and brain, which helps you cope more effectively with stressful situations. Eating a “rainbow of foods,” as well as more fresh vegetables and fruits, will ensure that she is getting a wide variety of different types of vitamins and minerals. Eating every four hours can help her from overeating, keeping her metabolism at a higher rate. Third, I would strongly encourage her to be more physically active. This will help tremendously with her overall stress levels. As a whole, I will make sure she understands that eating nutritious food, doing breathing exercises, and being physically active are some of the simplest methods of relieving stress. 7. Help me, I pray, to hunger and thirst for the wholeness you have for me in Christ. Help me to be willing to surrender to you whatever stands in the way of such wholeness” (64). Several juxtapositions dominate the relationship between the traditional academic life and a spiritual life. In a time when traditional Western thought advocates a dualistic approach of either/or, the relationship of spirituality to the academic life of a university could never be more at odds. For many, the potential ambiguity of spirituality undermines the very structure and pursuit of specific truth universities hold dear; however, the study and practice of spirituality encourages academic…
