Myron Cope, Pittsburgh native and inventor of the terrible towel, was a well-rounded, respected man in the eyes of the city’s residents. He was also a hard-working man who loved his job as a radio broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I remember listening to some of Myron’s broadcastings and he would always show great enthusiasm during the games, yelling catchphrases such as “yoi!”, which means “yikes” in the Pittsburgh language.
