As we go through life, we have many experiences that become pivotal and defining moments, moments that shape us into who we are today and even cause us to change our attitude or perspective on life itself. Two of the most defining experiences in my life happened around the same time, sophomore year. My life changed so much just within the course of a few months. There are two days of my life that I will never forget because they both had a huge impact on me. I will never forget the day my nephew was born and I will never forget the day my dog died. Both of these experiences were not only extremely emotional, but also taught me a lot about life in general. Family has always been very important to me, but it wasn’t until my sophomore year that I really began to understand just how much I needed them and how blessed I was to be surrounded by amazing people. When my nephew Malachi…

wonderous idea to me. So when my parents had told us that we were going to Cancun, Mexico I had very mixed emotions about the vacation. I have faced many obstacles throughout my life. Although some short, with a promising future still ahead. I came across a point in time when I almost didn't have a future at all. About 2 year ago I became extremely depressed and began to have painful anxiety attacks. My dad died unexpectedly from cardiac arrhythmia when I was 14 years old. This phrase has become my “go-to line” when people ask what happened. For them, it gives them all the information they need. However, it holds a different meaning for me, it holds how I felt when he died. Losing my father at such a young age changed quite a few social aspects of myself. A few common themes that emerged included the feeling of vulnerability, the feeling of having to grow up faster than everyone else, and an…
