    Mansa Musa and Mansa Sulayman were considered to be the last two great rulers of Mali. After their deaths/the end of their reign, Mali began to decline. After about 100 years, Mali had been overthrown and had fallen apart. Both of the ruler strongly believed in the Islamic religion, and also both made a pilgrimage to the Mecca. This affected how they controlled Mali, which is what made the two rulers similar. But, they also had their differences. The empire of Mali at the ruling of Mansa Musa and also at the rule of Mansa Sulayman was very religious. The Islamic religion could be shown through architecture, their society, and culture. Mali’s main source of money was made through trade, which started to decline after the two rulers had died.
