Day one, my first day of building. Since of my reacherch the previous day, I had an idea forming on how my mousetrap car was going to be build for and look like. I was going to build my car for distance. Use CD’s as the backwheels. Have a longer lever for distance. These were what I was thinking, my idea being having the big cd wheels in the back and because of how thin and their light weight they seemed as if they would work very well for not slowing it down, but of course they would have needed ballowns around them to add a little bit of traction. my idea for what the car was goig to be build as was I planned on hvaing 3 wheels, and have them on there like how you would have the wheels on a trycical, with a leaver at leastslightly larger then the block of wood. Although, even though I did my reserch the previous day I was still confused on many trhings and had and asked…

one throughout the morning and then the second one during the afternoon. So everyday this week was the exact same but I liked it. For the first two periods everyday we worked on a physics project, which was making a mouse trap into a race car. It was interesting, on Monday morning no one had any idea of what we would be doing but Mr. Seland went around and out a mouse trap on everyones desk. From that we watched videos on what a mousetrap car was and how to build them, then the rest was up to…

Introduction: The purpose of this lab is to help students gain a better understanding of physical concepts such as work (which occurs when an applied force moves an object.) torque (defined as a twisting force), energy and rotational inertia (an object's resistance to rotation). Experimental Design: My group’s testable question throughout the mousetrap car experiment was: If we add and subtract factors such as material, weight and shape, from the wheels of our car, how will it affect the…

and Jared Liddle. They were awesome partners on this project. In the first stages; Savanna came up with the starting idea for our car as well as the main points of our test plan. In the days that followed directly after we adjusted the plans and drawings, but the work was still based off of Savanna’s original ideas. Jared ended up building our first car. This car was a great start to help us figure out some problems in our original idea. After trying to fix the first car, I made a second design…

these past couple units. Along with being able to apply their knowledge, teams had to be able to build a decent mousetrap car to get the best grade possible. In order to get a car to go the maximum distance Taylor and Daniel came up with three different main variables: lever arm length; to see how much leverage gets the car the farthest, car length; to see if a small car will steer worse, wheel size; to see if having a bigger wheel fairs better. In order to test these variables the team decided…

the car, the goal was to make the car as sturdy as possible in order for the car to travel a great distance in a short amount of time. To do this, we researched various ways to create a mousetrap car. Additionally, we incorporated our own ideas to enhance the construction after trial and error. First, our team gathered all of the necessary materials that we would need to construct the car. These materials included one mousetrap, cardboard pieces, six balloons, four eye hooks, 2 smooth pens,…

Library Research The concept behind torsion spring powered alternative energy vehicles can be understood through a widely used high school physics experiment—the mousetrap car model (Roberts & Gonzalez-Espada, 2006, p. 15). The mousetrap model is very straightforward (Jumper, 2012, p. 137). A bow with a lever arm is installed in the model car, and this lever arm is then connected to the car’s rear axle with string. At rest, when potential energy is at its lowest, the lever arm is leaning…

The Physics Behind The Mousetrap Powered Car With the mousetrap auto there are a few physical science rule that are occurring as the mousetrap vehicle is in movement. These incorporate preservation of vitality, newton's laws, potential and dynamic vitality, dormancy, rubbing, and torque. The mousetrap auto has put away potential vitality and that vitality can be utilized to do work, for example, move an auto. In the mousetrap auto, the potential vitality is put away in the tensioned spring. A…

think that the most impact of me changing into how I am today would be the car culture. The car culture is a place where I really adapted into. I learned about how the whole scene works and the different kinds of people. When I lived in California a group of friends that I had were car enthusiast, they would talk about the meets going down, the events, etc. I was more of a regular person at the time who cared nothing else except video games. I later adapted to this culture because I like how…
