There is only one name I can think of, that places itself amongst all others when it comes to being a Hacktivist. A civilian that fought against his own nation to fight its corruption across the world. A hacker that established himself, poking holes into the said government’s networking systems. That name is Edward Snowden. As Molly Hagan says in her biography on Edward Snowden. “Edward Joseph Snowden was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on June 21, 1983, the second of two children. His father, Lon, was in the Coast Guard. His mother, Elizabeth “Wendy” Snowden, worked as a chief deputy clerk for administration and information technology for the US District Court in Baltimore, Maryland.”(Hagan). Snowden started off as another young United States citizen, growing up around computers. This passion for computers would soon make him the known hero he is today. Snowden dropped out of highschool out of illness, however this didn’t stop him from becoming insanely smart at computer technology. As Hagan goes on to inform us that “Snowden took community college courses at Anne Arundel Community College in computer science and later earned his GED.” (Hagan). These courses boosted his prior knowledge, and the GED made him employable. Snowden then went on to work for many places, taking all sorts of odd jobs. Even going into the military for a short period. He didn’t begin his start at a massive tech job until “In 2010 he took a job in Tokyo, Japan, working for Dell, a computer…

In the John Hughes’ 1984 film, The Breakfast Club, there were a lot underlying social issues that are very relatable to teens in high school of that age range. The early 80’s film was centered around five teens who have in some way been stereotyped by not only their peers but also by their parents and other authority figures. The main theme for the film is to overcome stereotypes and develop a voice for one’s self. As we as self-confidence and self-acceptance. At the end of the film each…

one might have assumed he had developed a secret formula for hit films.” In The Breakfast Club, John Hughes tested the bounds of comedy with “kids”. Similar to Ernst Lubitsch, he directed with an indescribable “touch” which altered aspects of dialogue, sound, setting, and mood to relate a subtle subtext. He opened with the introduction of five “stereotypes” and the song “Don’t You Forget about Me” to attract audiences into another world. The jokes came from his mind, into the characters, and…
