I remember it was my previous winter break when I was back in hometown - Hong Kong. I was on my way home from the airport and this massive breathtaking advertisement was hanging right at the exit of the tunnel, which it magnetized my eyes till it gradually faded out from my sight. The white panther creature is very rare to see. And this is how I discovered this powerful, wild, precise Panther clip brooch. I can say with pleasure that it has become one of my favorite pieces. The Panther clip brooch is made for a glamorous woman, the Duchess of Windsor, a great fan of Cartier by Jeanne Toussaint at Paris in 1949. Toussaint, who became Cartier's director of high jewelry in 1933, it perhaps best known for breathing life into the house's panther emblem, which first came about when Louis Cartier, grandson of founder Louis-Francois Cartier, commissioned an illustration from artist George barrier for an exhibition invitation card in 1914. A few years later, Toussaint placed the panther motif into a three-dimensional brooch, paved entirely in precious stones, set atop on a huge 152.35 carat sapphire cabochon. Newspaper at the time called it the "atomic bomb of jewelry". This imposing feline is omnipresent at Cartier, whether in its sculptured forms or in spirit, started after the war. The enfants terribles, “dreadful children” in France during World War II were certainly the youngsters known as "Zazous". Their rude attitude, the irritating onomatopoeic phrases they constantly…

I would understand the information in class then go home to do the projects and homework and find myself lost not knowing what to do. Another class I struggled with was MATH-M 25. I have always been pretty decent at math , but I never really understood the way my professor taught. He wouldn 't go into much detail. He…

child, stories have been incredible for me, specially the ones that involved animals so I decided to begin the day with a story of cats. Finishing the story, I wanted to know if the students knew a few words of the alphabet. Assuming most of them couldn't read, I proceed asking them “does anybody know what these are?”, since there was no answer I decided to ask this lovely little girl, Mrs.Finch, for my surprise she knew how to read. I imagined her father had taught her how to read, which to…

from Romulus to Belleville and although it’s not that far it changed my life. I slightly felt the world was ending. I remember I would always say to my mom, "Why do we have to move?" because I knew I was going to miss my friends and other things about the house tremendously. She would simply and respectably reply with "honey, the house we are living in now just isn 't worth what we are paying for it." Although my life was changed from this short move I had learned to accept and appreciate the…

Chicken!” Shouted Mr. Person above the roar of clapping hands. The elephant angrily stomped up to the podium, grabbed his trophy, and either accidentally or purposely crushed it.
