On June, 1812, Captain Charles Roberts gathered his men, 3 men from the Royal Artillery, 47 British Soldiers of the 10th Royal Veteran Battalion, 150 Canadian fur traders and voyageurs, 300 Ojibwa or Ottawas and 110 Sioux, Menominee and Winnebago.
