    Squish and giggles are the ever enticing sounds of childhood. Luckily my childhood was unexpectedly broadened because I could squeeze buttery mashed potatoes out of my congenitally missing teeth until the age of thirteen. Besides the fact that I looked like a rabid dog exerting unidentified foam from its mouth, no one could take away the enjoyment that comes with being silly. Two percent of the population are missing one or both of the maxillary lateral incisors, the teeth beside the two front teeth. According to my dentist, I am ahead of my time because our teeth are evolving, and in the future no one will have maxillary lateral incisors. However, I dreamed to be like every teenage girl after her braces were removed, unveiling a beautiful smile to accompany her post-pubescent development.
