“The First Shot Fired” It all started when I went to my nephew’s birthday party at a gun club when I was 12. my nephew’s grandpa told me to bring my shotgun, so I did and when we got there he told us that he owned this gun club. After we were done eating and opening presents he told me “get your shotgun, we’re gonna see how good you are.” When I got my shotgun we went up on to the wobble stand he told me to say pull when i’m ready. I loaded a shell, took my safety off and mounted the gun and was ready to shoot. I yelled “pull” and out came a bright orange clay bird what seemed to be traveling faster than the speed of light. I pointed the shotgun at the clay bird and pulled the trigger and the bird exploded. He told me to shoot more so I put 4 shells in the tube and put one in the chamber then yelled pull. I broke 5 straight, which is pretty good for a first timer. He told me that I am going to shoot 25 and see how many I can shoot. When I shot my round, he told me my score was 22 out of 25. After we got to talking, he told us that he has a sporting clay team for youths and that I should join. After a few months of debating, my dad and I agreed that I could join the team. I didn't believe I was going to be on the team until one day I decided to go upstairs and I looked at my dad's desk and I saw the application to shoot.
