Man Ray’s Cadeau (1921, Figure 1) was the artist’s first “readymade,” in addition to being the first piece he made while in Paris. The sculpture’s simple yet provocative form consists of an upright flatiron with several nails glued to its base in a single-file line. Like many of Man Ray’s works, Cadeau has a rich mythology associated with its creation. In this case, the piece was created the day of Man Ray’s first Parisian exhibition, with the help of composer Erik Satie.1 In Man Ray’s words: “We passed a shop where various household utensils were spread out in front. I picked up the flatiron, the kind used on coal stoves, asked Satie to come inside with me, where, with his help, I acquired a box of tacks and a tube of glue. Back at the gallery…

The most famous work of Man Ray is recognized as "The violin of Ingres", became iconic images of the twentieth century. I pose for this picture of Kiki de Montparnasse notorious (Kiki de Montparnasse) - muse of famous artists of Paris. The work of Man Ray - something like a photographic pun, "untranslatable play on words", and accurate manner. "Ingres violin" - the literal translation of the French idiom violon d'Ingres (literally, it was his "strong point", his weakness, his favorite pastime).…
history the use of photography can be seen for both purposes. Unintentionally or deliberately photography can frequently be seen using images to depict certain aspects about the society, culture, era, or decade in which it is created. This includes the attitudes towards gender roles throughout time and whether or not they are correct. effects of little things, it makes everything extraordinary. Ever since, the mind existed, we human beings have always imagined living in a society where technology would be exceptional. Some have gone as far as recording these predictions through the works of fiction, which is known predominantly as science fiction. building of the established conflict until it reaches the climax then resolution. The climax is when the opposing forces resolve their conflict. The resolution of a story is when order is restored and the outcome of the conflict and climax is made apparent. An example of a horror story that uses conflict and tension to generate fear is “The Man Upstairs” by Ray Bradbury. In Bradbury’s story, a man named Mr. Koberman moves into Douglas’s grandparents’ house. Koberman is a vampire that is…
there. In front of us, begging for us to use it until one day, we give up to the cause and join the rest in the reign of technology. Our personal freedom to think, feel, and believe the way we do collides with the advancement of technology. Ray Bradbury warns us that it can interfere with family relationships, human interaction, and personal freedom. He warns us against it but also says that it isn't always bad, as long as you keep it to a limit.…
Response to Photograph Black and White of Man Ray Shot in 1926, the main part of the photo Black and White is a woman holding a sculpture as an African ceremonial mask of sorts. The name of this picture is because of the black and white photography’s procession and that white woman as well as the African mask whose color is black. In this photo, both model Kiki de Montparnasse and African ceremonial mask are eyes closing and peaceful. Yet this photo is not just showing the beautiful model Kiki…
