Due to the transfer of his father in 1950 to its Ottawa headquarters, Jennings changed his college to Lisgar Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, Canada. Peter worked at CJOH-TV in Ottawa, Canada, anchored a local newscast, on Saturday, hosted a teen dance show, and Saturdays Date.
