    print out pictures of models that you can tell are extremely unhealthy compared to people that are average. How skinny models are, many people are unable to reach that goal unless they starve themselves. According to the story “When the models themselves were famous, designers would gladly alter a dress to fit the girl. But when the models are generically interchangeable, it’s easier to find a girl who fits the dress” this quote from the story is actually from a Vogue article. What is interchangeable you may ask it means “girls are the nameless faces if the advertising world (Richards, pg. 144).” There have been models that have actually died trying to stay the perfect weight for their careers. According to the story “In August 2006, Luisel Ramos, young Uruguayan model, collapsed on the run way and died of heart failure, assumed to have been the result of anorexia nervosa. Six months later, her sister Eliana, also a model, died of a heart attack associated with malnutrition. In November 2006, Ana Carolina Reston Brazilian model weighing eighty-eight pounds, at five feet eight inches, died of complications of anorexia, the ensuing uproar about ultraskinny models began an industry-wide conversation (Richards, pg. 144).” They are not the only models that have lost their lives due to trying to get the so called perfect image.
