The (3-16) Los Angeles Lakers are in the D, set to battle, the (11-9) Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The purple and gold, had their moments against the Hawks, both good and bad, put on a fourth quarter push only to fall short, 100-87, for their 16th loss of the season. The game provided some positives; the Lakers out-rebounded the Hawks, had four players score in double-digits and an aggressive D’Angelo Russell posted his first career double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Like any rookie point guard, tasked with taking charge and being aggressive, Russell finished the contest with seven turnovers. As a matter of fact, just as the Lakers have displayed all season, the pattern that has emerged: lack of execution, lack of trust in the offense, lack of focus, wasted opportunities, failure to finish games in addition to a far too gratuitous defense not to mention the ever present failure to whole-heartedly commit to defense mixed in with…

The (2-8) Los Angeles Lakers are in the valley of the sun, Phoenix, Arizona, to battle the (5-4) Suns. The Lakers, led by an all-around effort by Kobe Bryant, Jordan Clarkson and a defense that held the Detroit Pistons to 37-percent shooting from the field helped the purple and gold notch their second win of the season and first home win of the 2015-16 season. While in Phoenix, time permitting, the Lakers could view Camelback Mountain, for a challenging hike on Cholla trail, also a visit to…

Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak have recently intimated that the team needs a center to compensate for their lack of ceiling and a veteran point guard to provide backup minutes and guidance for their young spitfire duo of Jordan Clarkson and D’Angelo Russell, according to Basketball Insiders. Kupchak may have suddenly realized that there is only one full NBA season of experience between Clarkson and Russell and so both playmakers would need direction not only on the court but…

The Los Angeles Lakers are apparently keen on trading for Sacramento Kings’ star DeMarcus Cousins, according to ESPN. Mitch Kupchak and his gang are said to be “actively pursuing trade scenarios” to try and form a transaction that would persuade the Kings’ management to deal Cousins. Recently, Kings’ vice president and new chief decision-maker Vlade Divac quipped that they will only swap Cousins if Michael Jordan was available. It was thought of as a joke, but he had been firm that they would…

When Kobe Bryant said he would forgo college and take his talents to the NBA the journey to greatness began. I think this is the only thing I didn't enjoy about Kobe Bryant's career when he was drafted 13th overall to the Charlotte Hornets then traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. One can only imagine what would've happened to the legend of Hornets basketball if that move was never made, but I digress it's fun to dream. He quickly became a Hollywood star transforming the Lakers organization once…
