Before the “Z-Boys” had been introduced into the sport skateboarding it was mainly a tool for travel and when boards were brought into a competition tricks were all based off of spins which gave it all a very soft ballet-like feel. The aggression and surf influence from these kids opened up an entirely new side of skateboarding. Also during this time California was facing a drought, which forced many residents to empty their swimming pools to save water. These new skaters decided to take advantage of the situation and began bringing boards into these empty pools and applying their surf style by carving and riding the walls of the pool. Stacy Peralta uses photos and videos of the Z-Boys skating pools in his documentary to prove that Jay and the Z-Boys had forever changed skateboarding. This form of skateboarding is still widely practiced all across the world. Wherever an empty pool, bowl, ramp or half pipe is found skaters will mostly likely be nearby. On August 15, 2014 during a surfing trip in Mexico Jay had a heart attack which ended up killing him. His death left many people shocked including great skateboarders and his old teammates and friends. In Matt Higgins article, A Lord of Dogtown Reemerges, a quote from professional skater and X Game athlete, Danny Way, is used to prove how…

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalms 37:4-5). God doesn’t want anyone to struggle and worry.
