In this scenario as in many others, it is often the weakest people that desire power the most. They want to have control and the ability to override others. In John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, we are shown several characters with little power that are eager for more. Steinbeck uses Crooks and Curley to teach us that power is most desired by those with the least of it. Due to the color of his skin, Crooks has very little power which leads him to yearn for more.
