    a norm are not in need of new paint, are not run down, nor are they brand new with perfectly cut lawns in the summer. Any swing sets would be in the back yards, but one can hardly see in the backyards of the majority of the houses from the street. There is no main street in Glen Gardner; there is a post office, a hotdog stand, and random car shops on the highway that splits Glen Gardner. There is one traffic light in Glen Gardner that is located on the route 31. A person must travel out of town in order to get their basic needs met; food, clothing, medical care, and most likely for employment or recreational activities. A person that enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking would not need to travel outside of Glen Gardner. In Clinton Township, about a five-minute ride form VHN is a recreational area called Spruce Run. At Spruce Run you can lie on the “beach” or swim in the lake, bike, and fish in certain locations. Though Spruce Run is close to Glen Gardner, realistically a veteran could not walk or bike there from VHN. I would describe Glen Gardner and surrounding towns within 20 minutes, as a boring working class and middle class neighborhoods. There is nothing that is impressive to me in these towns, they are very quiet, safe neighborhoods, and without much to do. In Glen Gardner and most of the towns surrounding you won’t see children outside playing (unless in their yards or at a park), because of there is a lack of sidewalks and the roads are hilly, small, and curvy.…
