After I carefully selected glass pieces, I had to cut out a copy of my cartoon with special scissors that would account for the lead lines going through the window and I traced the pieces of glass. I took the pieces and scored them to break them into the shapes I wanted. Scoring was very hard for me because I struggled to keep control of the utensil and move slowly, so my glass pieces were very jagged and uneven. In order to fix my scoring problems, I ground the glass, using a machine that utilizes water to smooth the glass, and created the shapes I wanted. When grinding, I learned that it is very important to start from the outside edges of the window and work to the inside to make all the pieces fit. While I managed to get all my pieces to fit just right, I later notices that the nails on my edges were loose and caused all the glass pieces to shift, which required further grinding to fit the dimensions of my window. I then proceeded to copper foil the pieces. Copper foiling is a method applied to the edges of the pieces of glass in preparation to solder. I applied the copper foil, backed with an adhesive, to the glass pieces evenly and carefully to create the metal to metal connection needed to solder, but I found the foiling process incredibly tedious since every piece had to be very exact for an appealing outcome.     There was a store on the corner of Benson and Terrace Ave. Most who walked past pay little attention, for it was old and beaten down. The brick structure was covered in old faded graffiti with cracked windows and no sign to say it was open. Teenagers would dare each other to go in at night but none of them ever came back.
