There are television shows dedicated only on the practice of tattooing. One show, LA Ink, is a reality show acquired by famous tattoo artist, television personality and cosmetics entrepreneur, Kat Von D. The show is filmed in Von D’s Los Angeles tattoo studio, where multiple celebrities visit to get tattoos done by well-known tattoo artist, Kat Von D. Musician Jason Mraz; singer Christina Perri, and hip-hop artists Ja Rule and Soulja Boy all appeared as celebrity guests on seasons throughout the show. Another show, INK MASTER, hosted by guitarist and songwriter Dave Navarro focuses on the practice of tattooing. However, this show allows contestants to compete for the “ink master” title and also for a hundred thousand dollars. On INK MASTER, contestants compete by actually tattooing on other people, people who participate to be permanently marked and sacrifice their skin only for the contestants to try to get the title of “ink master”. Inked is a magazine that covers the lifestyle of those who are tattooed or “inked”. Celebrities like Kat Von D and Avril Lavigne have appeared on the front cover of Inked. LA Ink, INK MASTER, and Inked, all have something in common; they all use celebrities to lure their audience’s attention and, in this case, to get their audience to see the practice of tattooing, and tattoos as a good and common thing. The…

cross contamination. Because of the lack of regulations on tattoo ink, tattooing can cause cancer, blood born diseases, and granuloma. Before the artist starts the new tattoo, they should always complete the paper work that is required to keep everyone involved safe from legalities. The paper work includes taking the identification card of the person receiving the tattoo and their…
on it. Some of us believe tattoos are harmful and think we need to ban it in our society to prevent from bad influences to our young generations. On the other hand, others see it as beneficial, inspiring, and a need to maintain the histories of tattoos. I can understand that we all have different sentiments about tattoos because we all grew up in different households, received different perceptions and knowledge about cultures’ norms and values based on our belief systems. All above these…
the sirens to be unconscious. And for the siren queen, a diamond encrusted silver sword must be used to slay her for she is immortal. Markeus nods his head, gathers the elements given to him and is off to his journey. When Markeus reaches the rocky coasts of Athens, he spots the guardian siren named Mayia. Markeus quickly pulls out the shell from his satchel and throws it towards the siren. The shell then exposes an enchanted powder, that puts Mayia in a deep sleep. The waves crashed on top of…
Landing on the hard consonants and using them at the beginning of the word to propel the pitch forward worked perfectly. However, where there were any uncertain parts, prime example being the "Fa la la" section of “Fire”, our intonation, as well as all the other technical aspects declined rapidly in quality. As far as rhythmic accuracy goes, “Fire” may have lacked that quite a bit in the “Fa la la” section of the song, as well as small hiccups in some of the alleluia phrases of the Latin piece…
I could hear the water in the lake behind moving ever so slowly, but just enough for me to know that I wanted to stay forever. I felt like I was rich and had the biggest and most beautiful house on the entire planet. I remember dancing around with Hippo in the living room singing, “I am rich, la la la! I am rich la la la!” After I stopped dancing and singing, I then thought to myself “ This is paradise.” As I placed my placed my hand on the little statue next to me, I could feel my heart start…
Those who like to doze off into the world of books and zone out of reality. I would recommend this book to the audience the age of 13+ and those who are very interest into fairies. Other interests is Ink Exchange 2nd book, Fragile Eternity 3rd book, and Radiant Shadows 4th book. How I felt about this book is embarrassing because they have some lovey dovey stuff, and just make me felt embarrass while reading it. I would rate this book 5 out of 5. I really like how it romantic and supernatural…
that represent memento mori (skulls in particular) tattooed is fascinating. For example, in Latin American culture, skulls are tattooed following the loss of a loved one in association with Dia de los Muertos. In fact, sometimes people even get complete skeletons tattooed in order to commemorate lost loved ones, which is for many a way to accept that their lost loved ones are no longer corporeally with the living. Beyond skeletons, there are a specialized set of symbols associated with memorial…
of these cultures have used tattoos to identify different tribes or military branches, along with family heirlooms or simply because they appreciate the art of ink. Although there are so many different reasons as to why people get tattoos, they are not always so great. In recent history, tattoos have gained the stigma of gang related and deviant behaviors. These behaviors are associated with repetitive bad decisions and time spent in prison, to the use of drugs. However, tattoos have provided…
