As the season gets closer to summer the nights start to get warmer, and as the nights get warmer the kids play longer. Throughout lunch I heard about night games, which all my friends went to, and how much fun everyone had. Feeling left out I turned to Elli asking if we could do our own night games tonight. We didn't know if there would be enough people free after school to actually come. Afterwards, sitting at my house, on the stairs, waiting to hear any news about night games; I sent a text to Elli. She had found out that no one could actually make it; additionally I had one person who could, his name is Austin, and I had a crush on him. I thought it was a perfect reason to go to the park; I wanted to hang out. Planning out what to say to my dad, and imagining how he would respond I covered all the possibilities of the conversation. I knew from previous times, I had asked to go out, that he would want to know four things: who was gonna be there, what we would be doing, when it started and ended, and where it was. In my planning I asked myself these questions, so when they came up I had an answer. Feeling good about the tale I had come up with; it was finally time to go into the office and ask. Roughly everything I said was true ﹘ aside from no one was going to be there, and hanging out with a boy. Turns out that my careful planning paid off, Dad said that I could go, and he would take me. I was exuberant getting into the car; not being able to believe what had…

It’s been exactly six days, twelve hours, forty-seven minutes, three-thirty seconds and counting since the last time me and Tre went out together. Or something like that; I haven’t really been keeping up with the time, so maybe I’m off by an hour. Or ten. Anyway, it’s been almost a week since we went to the haunted house and technically I wouldn’t even consider that a date because we were supposed to meet up with a group of friends. So if I really think about it, it’s more like we haven’t been…

The carp could act as however it is being portrayed as or it could mean something important to what it is being associated with. Many mythical symbols have a beginning, such as the carp. There are stories about the origin of the carp, but those are not one-hundred percent true. “The real origin of those coloured creatures was in truth, more of an accident than by any real intentions and they are truly ‘man made’” (“Origins and Myths” 1). The carp was discovered unexpectedly instead of having a…
