    A Personal Media Analysis

    Media makes part of everybody’s daily life. Entertain, communicate and inform are some of the many purposes of its used. I tracked my media use throughout my day and I noticed that I spend most of the day using my phone and my computer. From the moment, I woke up I took my phone to turn off the alarm, then voluntarily as I was having breakfast I started going through my applications. For example, WhatsApp and Telegram to check any messages, Snapchat to send a picture to my streaks and Hotmail to check for relevant mail and office updates. As the day went by I did other activities voluntarily with my phone, for instance, in the morning while I was driving to college I used iTunes for my music. By listening to music in the morning it gave me energy and waked me up. Then, at the gym, I used Hulu on my phone while I was running, and then when performing other activates like weights and stretch I used iTunes again. I was constantly using my phone to received calls and messages. In the afternoon, I checked Pinterest in my phone to get an idea for my office outfit and as the day went on, I used other devices like my computer. A lot of these actions are voluntary, other are not. My involuntary actions with media were more than my voluntary actions especially when it came to moments where I was bored. During the time I had between school and my job, I performed the most involuntary actions. For example, as I was watching a show on Hulu, there were various commercials play throughout…
