Local Man Journey to Success The younger generations may not know what a wonderful person Paul Newman was but this is the reason for writing this paper about his life and established career. He was a local resident who shot to stardom and became a household name in both acting and business. This paper will share information about his early life, his acting career, and the race car driver that he lived to be. Who would have known that someone from Ohio could be so successful. Paul Leonard Newman, who was the second son of Theresa (Fetsko) and Arthur Sigmund Newman, was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio on January 26, 1925. Paul’s father was Jewish and the owner of a sporting goods store and his mother was a practicing Christian Scientist, but it was Paul’s uncle Joe who gave him his itch for acting. The young, good looking blue-eyed Paul started acting when he was in grade school and continued to perform plays during his high school years. Before Paul turned 21 years old, he was kicked out of Ohio University college for unruly behavior. After being kicked out of college Paul had joined the military and spent 3 years in the Navy II attending to the radios during World War. Paul had wanted to become a flier of planes, but it was discovered that Paul was color blind, which destroyed his dreams of becoming a pilot. After he served his time in the military, he then attended and graduated from Kenyon’s College in Ohio and married his first wife, Jackie Witte. Paul moved his…
