The Music Of Dolly Parton. Hey everybody how you are doing? Well I know you guys love music and I'm glad to see that you guys made it here to hear my speech. Some of you music lovers say that Kitty Wells and Jean Shepard were the best country singers in the 60’s. (Pause for the audience reaction) they are WRONG while they were on the charts, Dolly Parton was the number one hit. You might be wondering who I am. I am Dolly Parton's sister ~Stella Parton~ This is important for me to talk about because I believe you guys need to know the FACTS. Now! Dolly Parton was born in January 19, 1946. Dolly became famous when she started being a songwriter in 1964. Dolly loved being a songwriter, but she also loved being a singer too and she liked to act as a actor. She decided to keep writing, but not for other people. She started to be a songwriter for herself and sing her own songs. Now you may say, "so what does that have to do what we think". Well one of Dolly Parton's songs she wrote was “9 to 5“, “Say Forever You’ll Be Mine”, “To Daddy” and “Together You And I”. Out of those songs to me “9 to 5” was the best hit, everyone loved it and today people still sing the song. “9 to 5” was originally a song by American country music artist my sister Dolly Parton. Dolly wrote that music piece and also performed it for the 1980 Comedy Film. In addition, it appeared on the film soundtrack. The song was a centerpiece of Dolly's “9 to 5” and “Odd Jobs” album, in late 1980’s. The…

Who Am I ? “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” Dr. Seuss once wrote this poem which was music to my ears growing up. It fascinated me to think that in this gigantic world filled with 7 billion people that I was the only Amanda A Laryea to ever walk its surface. Until about 8 years later on a random Facebook search, I found about four other individuals who share my name. However, our similar names do not connote similar personality…

Before leaving for school, I sit down and turn on my favorite show, Spongebob Squarepants. In this episode, Spongebob is being bullied, an incident that many students like me and my friends can relate to, at Boating School by a larger fish named Flatts. Annoyed and frustrated, Spongebob lets the bully have his way, and since he is a sponge, the bully’s physical abuse doesn’t affect him, the bully becoming tired and run-down. During the whole episode, Spongebob stays strong which teaches the…

Mum shouted up the stairs, "Come down here now!" Her shout interrupted the nostalgia I was feeling from lying on my bed appreciating the array of star wars posters and memories plastered on my walls. There were only a few weeks until I started university and reach one step closer to reaching my dream of being an astrophysicist. I answered "Coming!" and began to make my way downstairs, as I was walking down the stairs something in the atmosphere felt different, as if something had changed and I…

I always thought I had limits. It all started when my sister and I used to draw human figures when we were both in elementary school. She drew pretty one while I somehow managed to turn mine into Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. When I asked her how she drew them so perfectly, she merely shrugged and said that she became good when she entered third grade. From then, I waited for the third grade to come. In Korea, there is a tradition of eating a bowl of rice cake soup on New Year 's Day and…

“Am I Ugly?”- Spongebob Squarepants, 2000 “Mrs. Breedlove, having snatched up the round, flat stove lid, ran tippy-toe to Cholly as he was pulling himself up from his knees, and struck him two blows, knocking him right back into the senselessness out of which she had provoked him. Panting, she threw a quilt over him and let him lie. Sammy screamed, ‘Kill him! Kill him!’”(46) This is a perfect picture of what Pecola’s life and situation is at home, violent and cruel. i'm trying to come up with a viable explanation for this: one moment ago i was standing on the overpass, listening to the rumble of cars and semi-trucks hurtling past. and now i'm hovering. hovering. floating. and when i look down i don't see concrete. there's a figure crumpled on the ground, its neck twisted at a strange angle. its arms and legs are splayed out and the asphalt around it has dark patches of what i can only guess is ... well. i'm staring at its head. there's a big dark spot…
