    Technology Vs Classroom

cope with using technology more often in the classroom and that paper will soon be an anomaly. In Jonah Lehrer’s article he argues the potential an e-reader has. He claims, “here is the wonderful thing about the human brain: give it a little time and practice and it can make just about everything automatic.” (quoted in Lehrer) His point is that we have really never gave e-readers a chance to work. We always shut down the chances of actually making it comparable to an actual book. He states, “the human cortex is the fact that there are actually two distinct pathways activated with sight of letters.” (Lehrer) In other words, students that are on the more traditional reading side support it because it makes us look at a page and gives us focus on the actual book. That scholars are used to the book; they expect an e-reader to depress the retention because it’s not a book. Which, yes this could be one reason why people don’t like using e-readers but with the evidence from Cindi May above, with scientific data to prove e-reader’s lower retention, but the evidence from Jabr makes this counterargument mean nothing. He says if students “expect” an e-reader to depress the retention, it’s because it does. Referring back to when Jabr explained, “Most studies concluded that people read slower, less accurately, and with less comprehension when reading with screens.” (quoted from Jabr 3) Lehrer says to “expect” the depress, but when it’s scientifically proven from studies, it’s more likely…

    I. Introduction The book of Jonah can be used to postulate a number of different theological suppositions. For those that want to press their position on the sovereignty of God, then it easy to use Jonah for the way God manipulates the wind, the sea, the whale, the sun, and even the worms! For those that want to point out the debilitating effects of disobedience and its consequential effects toward depression, then Jonah is a good case study. This man begs God to take his life three times in…

event for his generation (Genesis 6:12-14). God told Noah that there was going to be a flood that will wipeout the entire generation of people if they refuse to turn away from their wicked ways. Some bible scholars and historians have suggested that a span of 100-120 years had past before the prophecy of the flood was fulfilled. Also, who can forget the Minor Prophets, Jonah and Nahum, both of whom God gave prophesies concerning Nineveh, a great city that was a part of the Assyrian empire. In…

The book of Jonah, just like the other Minor Prophets, is a short story – only 4 chapters with 48 vesicles – which, between other characteristics, its distinguishes by having the prophet as the main character, while the other prophets are only collections of oracles. Another difference with the other minor prophet books, is that the book of Jonah is a narrative story about the mission ordered to Jonah, and, even in other books of the Bible, we find parallel writings of this particular style,…

four out of five stars. One reason is the character has a strong development. Bea and Jonah did not have the friendship like other people have a friendship, where it's all based on group and parties and what everybody else thinks. Instead, their friendship comes from truth-bond conversations, shared secrets, daring stunts, and late-night calls to the same old-timer radio show. They help each other and hurt each other, push away and hold close. It’s not romance, exactly-but it’s definitely love.…

    Pride In The Bible Essay

Psalm 10:4 it says “In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thought there is no room for God”. This explains that a man full or consumed with his own thoughts, they have no room for God. Pride can drive people away from God. The more prideful a person gets, the more they grow away from God. This is a bad thing because we need to have a good relationship with God. We should be looking for ways to grow closer to God, not away from him. One example of this in the bible is…

about Jonah? I believed Jonah was just a miraculous story about a man being swallowed by a fish. I assume that Jonah is the author of his own story. I know that Jonah was saved by the fish or whale for God’s purpose. He was being punished for not being aligned with God’s plans. The sea would play a role because it stored the beast that saves Jonah. It is miraculous and that is what makes it so memorable. How would you describe your relationship to Jonah I see Jonah as I see the rest of the…
