    Being involved in the community will change ones life. It was my senior year in high school until I realized what happens when one gets involved in their community. Being involved in the Miracle League not only helped the kids, it helped me as a person. I still remember the first time I went to the Miracle League. It was a tradition of my baseball team to go to the Miracle League once a year. I was nervous, and did not know what to expect. It was a steaming hot Saturday morning the day we went. I could feel the joy in the air as I walked in the park. I walked up to the front desk and received my name tag. There I was told that volunteering at the Miracle League was a huge contribution to the community. I did not fully understand what she meant until later that game. We walked to the dugout and were greeted by crowds of kids wanting to be our "buddy." The joy on their face made me realize what hanging out and playing baseball with them really meant. I was choosing to be Jacks "buddy" I said, "Jack your up, hit a homerun!!" He looked back at me with a face that showed pure happiness. The crack of the bat sounded, and we ran. He would only run the bases if I held his hand, so we sprinted around and scored. As the game ended and we left, Jack was upset because he had so much fun, and now it was over.
