this analysis I watched a YouTube video about Jenny McCarthy’s view on vaccines. In this video Jenny McCarthy explains how she thinks without a doubt that her son got autism due to the vaccines. For example, she mentioned how her son was perfect and gradually his body was transforming after the vaccines. The conductor of the show stated that there is no link between autism and vaccines, but Jenny McCarthy choices to ignore this information by stated that vaccines is part of a business. Jenny McCarthy even mention that her son is recovered from autism by changing his diet and giving victims and supplements. Problem 1: Confirmation bias is when people favor certain information that confirms their beliefs. (Dyer, 2017) Jenny McCarthy is using conformation bias in this video because she uses her personal experiences to defend her viewpoint of vaccines. For example, she mentions, “We do believe, we were the witness with our child.” This shows how Jenny McCarthy uses only her information to defend her viewpoint about vaccines.
