Numerous drivers understood it may be beneficial to adhere to NASCAR, and wear the HANS device on fast tracks, however it may be more detrimental on a short track if one is hit on the side of your car. Moreover, these types of accidents happen much more frequently on short tracks, and in Bristol, the accidents occurred almost all on the sides of cars all day long. Furthermore, even with the newly introduced device, and Gordon giving it a even better reputation with the fast tracks, many drivers still held onto previously conceived skepticisms.
