    “I want to want the white house with the picket fence covered with climbing roses, but I just don’t.” Janis Joplin was an amazing Rock & Roll singer. She was out of control and many people loved her for that. Although she was wild for her fans, she hid her personal problems well. The height of her career was the downfall of herself. Her early life would be characterized more or less of being an outcast. Janis Joplin was born on January 19, 1943, in Port Arthur Texas. Her high school years are unlike most girls who she grew up with. She was heavyset with acne, and she mainly hung out with guys. In 1960 she left home to attend Lamar State College of Technology (Angel 21). After awhile she returned home to attend Port Arthur Business College. She then moved to California and got a job as a key punch operator. She met a man on her bus ride home, and then skipped her stop to go to LA with him. She then moved to LA (Angel 22).
