In the documentary, Smith interviews multiple women about the struggles of growing up in ‘the life’, which is a term they use to describe the life of sex trafficking and vulnerability. Most of the girls started off young, and they were not forced into the industry. Instead, they were tricked by the appealing tactics that traffickers used on them. By listening and learning about the girls lives, they were able to coax them into believing that they cared ore than their family; and being vunerable, there girls believed it.
