On September 16th, 2015 I went to Chippewa Elementary School in Holtsville, New York. I made an observation at the beginning of the day in Mrs. Carey’s Kindergarten class. The purpose of this observation is to observe and evaluate the human matters of sentiments, behaviors, standards and relationships between teachers and students within the classroom. When I first walk into the classroom it felt dreary due to the whole classroom having dark stained wood paneling on all walls, dark wooden tables and desks. The teacher tried to brighten up with classroom by displaying photos of the children’s family members, birthday calendar displaying all the children’s upcoming birthdays, word wall, student’s names, along with educational posters and art work created by the children. Furthermore I do feel that the classroom arrangement does display and reflect the students’ needs and interests. Class started at 9:15am, at this time the children were just walking into the class. While being greeted and giving directions to place their schoolbags in the cubbies and to take a seat. One student named Jason walked up to Mrs. Carey with excitement handing her a picture he drew over the weekend for her. When it was time for the class to settle down to start the day the teacher would clap her hands and have the children clap their hands back to make sure everyone was paying attention. From there Mrs. Carey would talk to the students in an exciting/happy way, asking the children “How was their…

By definition, a passion is a strong and barely controllable emotion. We live every day following a passion on guiding us to the necessary tools of daily motivation. Beginning off, I am passionate about learning and getting the proper education I need to further myself in life. Reason being, my mom, and dad had never been a “helicopter parent” when it came to grades; they would just look over my work, check in with me now and then to make sure I was doing what I am supposed to be doing.…

The Breathtaking Brown Girl Dreaming Initially when I began Jacqueline Woodson 's Brown Girl Dreaming I wasn 't convinced her choice of writing style was for me. I didn 't fully grasp how an autobiography could be written in verse and still flow like a narrative. However, Woodson laid to rest any concerns or doubts I may have had prior to starting this delightful novel. I have never been one to avidly seek out memoirs; I get bored with them after only just beginning them. Brown Girl Dreaming is…
