    this computer/calculator was first being built. It was invented by two young geniuses, John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert. The ENIAC is an acronym standing for “Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer.” Its purpose was to be built for World War II as a confidential military project; the ENIAC was a project funded by the United States government and the building began in 1943 at the Moore School of the University of Pennsylvania. The ENIACs original motive for invention was for the war; however, it was not totally completed and tested until after the war had been won. One big problem with the ENIAC was that it was of massive proportions. It was the size of a full room. This is a drastic difference compared to modern day cell phones, computers, and calculators that can fit in your pocket. The ENIAC was exactly that- a giant calculator.
