Pursuing a nursing career My full name is Lyubov Mogilenko although, most people just call me Luba. I was born on November 19,1987, which means this year I will be turning 30 years old. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and came to the United States at the age of 9. I am very grateful that my family could become United States citizens and pursue a life here. Both of my parents were hard workers working low paying jobs that required long hours to provide everything for my sister and me. Unfortunately, at the age of 57 my father passed away from colon cancer. One day he was healthy and two month later I was attending his funeral. My mother took it very hard and suffered depression for a very long time. I became independent at the age of 17 helping my mother with bills while going to school. I met someone at the age of 19 who I thought was the love of my love. I had two beautiful children who make my life worth living. By 23 I ended up leaving the relationship because of verbal and physical abuse. I didn’t want my children to grow up in an environment that way. I worked many jobs to provide for my kids while taking prerequisites to be able to apply to nursing school. Graduating from the nursing program at South West La will be one of my greatest accomplishment and I want my kids to recognize that hard work pays off. Nursing school was extremely hard to get accepted into. I applied to 7 community college and every email I received either read waiting list or denied. The…

The givers world, utopia or dystopia? I think it’s a dystopia, it could really go both ways though. Here are some reasons why I think that the givers world is a dystopia. Reason number 1. A utopia has people that make their own decisions and are well informed and educated of the things happening in their government. In the giver the citizens are under almost complete control of the government. On page 105 when giver is talking to Jonas he says “they know nothing” when asked about his memories…
